Site Upgrade for historic Colorado church
This project for a Colorado church (PuebloDivineScience.org) required manually rebuilding dozens of pages and posts using content from a prior site that used a page builder (Divi) with no viable migration/export method while matching the prior design as closely as possible using the Genesis Framework and the Parallax (StudioPress) child theme to achieve the parallax scrolling effect on the home page, including minor customization code to extend the number of parallax-scrolled images there. The new site makes use of WordPress page hierarchy and blog post architecture for improved content organization, navigation, usability, and long-term ease of maintenance.
A further improvement was moving a large audio library outside of WordPress to minimize the size and complexity of automated backups. Other typical website enhancements included our standard suite of “best practice” plugins, weekly MailChimp RSS-to-email automation, automated regular full backups (database and files) to DropBox, Google Analytics Dashboard, and on-site photography (via a colleague living in the area) to provide new theme graphics derived from PhotoShopped images.
