Intent Design Studio specializes in the design and development of small business websites.

We are seasoned, enthusiastic website designers (since the early 1990s) and have been using WordPress exclusively since 2006. Incidentally, WordPress now (as of March 2019) powers a third of the web … and that percentage continues to grow … for good reason!

Bruce Rawles & Nancy Bolton-Rawles, Owners IDS

Intent Design Studio (IDS) – a husband/wife team consisting of Bruce Rawles and Nancy Bolton-Rawles – specializes in affordable, innovative WordPress CMS (Content Management System) web design, implementation, and maintenance using the superb Genesis framework and StudioPress child themes. We also provide a wide range of graphic design, search engine optimization, marketing, social media and digital communication solutions for small businesses.

Bruce and Nancy are both “early adopter” website designers. Bruce has an electronics engineering background, as well as graphic art, and Nancy has expertise in graphics, fine art, and business. Around the turn of the millennium, Nancy had a 1-woman business downtown in Grass Valley, California called The Websmithy, and contributed to a local “Wild Women of the Web” collaborative group. Meanwhile, Bruce worked for a “dot-com era” startup, tristream next door. Previously, Bruce worked for Grass Valley Group (GVG formerly part of Tektronix) in Grass Valley for nearly 20 years where he – while doing hardware and then software engineering for routing switchers for the video broadcast industry – evangelized about this promising new curiosity called the “web” during its infancy, even building a primitive intranet for use by fellow engineers.

In 2004, we combined our complementary skills to start our own website design, production, and maintenance business. Since then, we continue to broaden the depth and breadth of our WordPress and related marketing experience, working with many types of small businesses all over the USA.

We work from home in Yachats on the central Oregon coast – update July 2023: now from the Tucson AZ area – with an office staff consisting of two ragdoll cats, Cooper and Sophie, and a handful of wonderful associates on standby for larger projects. With tools such as Zoom and Skype for video conferencing and screen-sharing, DropBox for file-sharing, and decades of experience with Adobe, and other media apps, we’re able to assist a wide range of clients around the globe with small business WordPress and related marketing projects.
